Ben’Zara Minkin serves as an emergency preparedness manager with the San Mateo County Community College District (SMCCCD), where he works to ensure timely, coordinated internal emergency response. He oversees programs that reduce the risk of serious incidents and provide assurance of operational continuity and seamless recovery efforts. Ben’Zara Minkin excels in identifying hazards and performing impact analysis. He works to assess optimal pathways of delivering response.
Ben Minkin earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy at the University of California, Santa Barbara, in 2000, graduating summa cum laude with a concentration on language, religion, and existentialism. He subsequently earned a fire technology certificate at the College of San Mateo and earned his MS in emergency services administration at California State University, Long Beach. His current responsibilities at SMCCCD include teaching at the Firefighter I/II Academy on topics such as firefighting rescue and fire prevention.
Ben Minkin is a longtime martial arts competitor who enjoys activities such as wrestling and judo. He achieved a World Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Champion ranking in 2001. He is also certified as a CPR instructor and experienced as a paramedic, delivering critical medical support.
